The Pantry Coordinator is responsible for the daily on-site operations of the Mid-North Food Pantry. This includes managing food receipt, storage, and distribution; supervising volunteers during shifts; and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The Pantry Coordinator will be present on-site during pantry hours (Monday-Friday or Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/ Friday/Saturday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM) and will serve as the primary point of contact during distribution shifts. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a part-time position (approximately 25 hours per week) with an hourly rate of $18.00. Paid time off (PTO) is included.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee receipt, stocking, and storage of food deliveries.
  • Manage all on-site operations of food distribution shifts, including setup and cleanup.
  • Supervise and support volunteers during distribution hours.
  • Ensure all food is handled in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management in coordination with the Director of Operations.
  • Maintain a welcoming and safe environment for all clients and volunteers.
  • Be available to work Saturday pantry days as scheduled.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications and Background

  • Experience in customer service, food service, nonprofit, or warehouse/distribution settings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage volunteers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact respectfully with a diverse community.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm in high-volume situations.
  • Natural commitment to charitable service and community support.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.

Additional Information

The Pantry Coordinator must be able to:

  • Lift and carry 45-pound bags/boxes of food.
  • Push or pull up to 1,000 pounds on a manual pallet jack.
  • Walk up stairs multiple times per shift.
  • Stand for several hours.
  • Use a computer or tablet for reporting and communication.
